How Our Paving Work Is Done
Antioch Asphalt Paving Pros paves and maintains asphalt driveways, parking lots and private roads in Antioch and the surrounding towns of East Contra Costa County. The work covers new driveways, lot paving, resurfacing, sealcoating, repairs and parking lot striping.
Asphalt in this part of the county has two opponents. One is the ground: much of Antioch sits on clay soils that swell when the winter rains soak them and shrink as they dry out over the summer, while pockets near the river are sandy and drain fast. The other is the sun: Antioch's average July high is a little over 91 degrees and the city has recorded 117. A pavement that is built thin, on a soft base, or without anywhere for water to go will show it within a few seasons.
That is why each estimate starts below the surface. We measure, look at how water moves across the area, probe soft spots and check where the pavement meets the garage, the sidewalk and the street. If the job reaches the public right-of-way, such as a driveway approach or a curb cut, we tell you which agency issues the encroachment permit (the City of Antioch, a neighboring city, or Contra Costa County for unincorporated areas) and what it involves.
